When to visit Marshall Islands

The Marshall Islands have a maritime tropical climate, characterized by warm temperatures and high humidity, with minimal changes in temperature as seasons change.

The annual average temperature of the islands is at 27 °C (81°F), while the average temperature of lagoon waters are at 26 °C (80 °F) the whole year. In other words, the Marshall Islands are the quintessential summer destination, simply because it’s like summer the whole year round!

Average rainfall is about 30-38cm, (12-15in) per month – very low numbers. The amount of rainfall varies between the northern and southern regions though, with the northern region receiving 178cm (70in) annually and the southern region receiving 432cm (170in) annually.

You need not worry about typhoons during your stay there, as these are not common in the area. The designated rainy season is from September to November, and the dry season is from January to March, though there is not much of a difference between the average temperatures and rainfall between the two periods.

If you plan on fishing or travelling around the waters surrounding the islands, you may find it useful to know that the calm water months fall between June and September.
