Hungary’s climate is best described as continental. The average yearly temperature is 9.7 °C (49.5 °F) where summers usually have an average temperature of 23 to 28 °C (73.4 to 80 °F) and winters dip to –3 to –7 °C (27 to 19 °F).
The perfect time to visit the country depends on where you want to go or what you intend to do. If a ski adventure, a fishing trip, or a horseback ride is on your list, then the months of December, January, and February are the best times to plan your vacation, as these are the snowy winter months temperature of –10 °C (14 °F) to as low as –20 °C (–4 °F).
Summer starts on the second half of May. During this time, the weather is pleasant at around 25 °C (77 °F), making sightseeing, nature exploring, and of course, swimming the ultimate must-do activities for the whole family.
