South Korea has four distinct seasons, similar to the United States. Spring is from mid-March to the end of May, summer is from June to August, autumn is from September to November, and winter is from December to mid-March.
There is an extreme temperature difference between the seasons, with the winter temperatures being very cold and the summer temperatures being very hot.
Your choice of time to visit South Korea depends on what you want to experience. In winter, the weather is dry but bitterly cold, especially in the northern parts of the country. Temperatures in this season normally reach up to –5ᵒC (23ᵒF). This would be the perfect time to visit if you enjoy winter activities and sports.
In spring, South Korea has mild temperatures and blooming flowers all over the country. In autumn, the weather is usually warm and sunny and the skies are blue. Most tourists recommend this time to visit the country.
It is a good idea to avoid visiting the country in peak summer, from late June to late August. This is because 60% of South Korea’s annual rainfall occurs during this period, which is usually followed by hot and humid weather. Temperatures can reach up to 25ᵒC (77ᵒF). Additionally, locals and tourists alike flee the city for vacations in the mountains, beaches, and islands, which doubles the accommodation prices.
