When to Visit Romania

Romania’s location in the European continent leads to significant variations in the country’s temperature within the year. Romania experiences four seasons, with spring and fall being the most convenient times to pay the country a visit.

During springtime, between late March and early June, the weather is pleasantly warm but turns a bit cooler during early mornings and late nights. At daytime, the temperature is perfect for strolling in the major cities and exploring in the wild terrains.

Late September to early November witnesses dry autumn with moderately low temperatures. During this period, Romanian greeneries are in full bloom which makes for a perfect sightseeing treat.

The next best time to visit Romania after these seasons is summer, from June to September. These months are generally characterized by high temperatures ranging from
16 °C to 35 °C (61 °F to 95 °F).

Despite the heat, summer months are perfect for resort activities especially on the plains and along the southern Black Sea coast.

Winter, on the other hand, brings unrelenting snow during the months of November to March. Temperature ranges from 2 °C to 15 °C (36 °F to 59 °F), with the mountainous regions having the lowest temperatures.

Annual rainfall averages at 750 mm (30 in), with concentrations in the months of April to October.
